Who you are

You have a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience. With a minimum of 5 years in the industry, you have a strong focus on machine learning and optimization. Your expertise includes designing and developing machine learning solutions, particularly in the realm of customer support engineering. You are familiar with generative AI algorithms and have experience in NLP for query understanding and response ranking. You have a solid understanding of data analysis and statistical methods, enabling you to design and analyze experiments effectively. You are also comfortable reviewing code and designs, providing constructive feedback to your teammates, and mentoring junior engineers.

Desirable

Experience with ML packages and frameworks is a plus, as is a background in deploying machine learning models in real-world applications. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to brainstorm innovative solutions and iterate on products. Your ability to drive insights and identify tech-driven product innovations will be key to improving user satisfaction and operational efficiency.

What you'll do

In this role, you will design, develop, and productionize machine learning solutions that enhance the customer support experience for millions of Uber Eats users. You will leverage your expertise in generative AI and NLP to create algorithms that optimize query understanding and response ranking. Your responsibilities will include productionizing and deploying these models for real-world applications, ensuring they meet the needs of our users. You will also design and analyze experiments using a combination of data analysis and statistical methods to lead your team to reasonable inferences. Collaboration is key, as you will work with cross-functional teams to brainstorm new solutions and iterate on existing products. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, helping them grow in their roles and contribute effectively to the team.
