Who you are
You have a strong background in product management, ideally with 5+ years of experience in a tech-driven environment. You excel in ambiguous problem spaces and have a proven track record of owning product areas from discovery through delivery. Your ability to translate complex data insights into actionable product requirements sets you apart. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Data Science, and UX, to build effective solutions that enhance user trust and safety.
You understand the importance of fairness and transparency in a marketplace, particularly in the context of risk management. Your analytical mindset allows you to identify merchant pain points and operational needs, ensuring that the products you manage proactively address fraud and abuse. You are passionate about creating a safe and trusted platform for users and merchants alike.
Desirable
Experience in risk management or fraud prevention is a plus, as is familiarity with machine learning applications in product development. You are data-driven and have experience working with metrics to define success for your products. A background in the delivery or logistics industry would be beneficial, as it provides context for the challenges faced by merchants in this space.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own a core Merchant Risk problem area, driving the strategy and execution of product initiatives that enhance fraud prevention and merchant trust. You will define product requirements and create a roadmap for internal and merchant-facing risk capabilities. Your work will involve translating merchant pain points and operational needs into clear product requirements, including PRDs and UX flows. You will collaborate closely with Data Science and ML/AI teams to develop practical, data-driven risk solutions that protect Uber and enhance merchant trust.
You will be responsible for conducting user research to understand the needs of merchants and iterating on product features based on feedback and data insights. Your role will require you to work with various stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Uber's delivery strategy and objectives. You will also be involved in defining success metrics for your product area, allowing you to measure the impact of your initiatives effectively.
