You have extensive experience in public policy and government affairs, ideally within the technology sector, and a proven track record of leading teams through complex regulatory environments. Your ability to dive deep into technical details, such as competition policy and the future of work, sets you apart. You thrive in ambiguous situations and can turn challenges into actionable strategies that resonate with stakeholders. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. You are a strategic thinker with a 'go-get-it' attitude, ready to tackle the unique challenges of the APAC region. You understand the importance of collaboration and can foster a culture of excellence and resilience within your team.
What you'll do
As the Senior Director of Public Policy & Government Affairs, you will lead a team of 25+ policy professionals across the APAC region, setting the strategic direction for public policy initiatives. You will be responsible for translating global research and data into locally relevant arguments that demonstrate Uber's value to city stakeholders. Your role will involve managing high-velocity regional strategies while ensuring that your team is equipped to handle the complexities of various regulatory landscapes. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to develop clear strategies that address unstructured regulatory challenges, from labor classification to agentic AI. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of excellence and resilience within your team, ensuring that they are motivated and equipped to succeed in their roles. You will also be expected to engage with external stakeholders, advocating for policies that support Uber's mission and objectives in the region.
