Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building scalable production systems. Your expertise in Java and Python allows you to design high-performance APIs that handle millions of requests, and you have a strong understanding of RESTful services and cloud infrastructure.

You are a natural leader who enjoys mentoring junior engineers and guiding them through complex technical challenges. Your experience includes setting technical direction and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-value products that meet customer needs.

You understand the importance of security in software development and have experience working with compliance standards such as SOC 2, HIPAA, and ISO 27001. You are passionate about creating systems that not only function well but also maintain a high level of security and trust.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable driving complex projects across a technical stack. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders makes you a valuable asset to any team.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with monitoring tools and practices that ensure system reliability and performance. You may also have experience with agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Monetization Platform team at Vanta, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable backend services that support the company's rapid growth. You will lead projects that enhance the functionality of the revenue and entitlement platform, ensuring it meets the needs of a diverse customer base.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. Your role will involve conducting code reviews, providing feedback, and mentoring junior engineers to help them grow in their careers.

You will also be tasked with optimizing existing systems and ensuring they can handle the increasing volume of data and API calls as Vanta continues to expand. Your technical expertise will guide the team in making informed decisions about architecture and technology choices.
