You have 5+ years of experience maintaining and deploying highly-available, fault-tolerant systems at scale — you've navigated the complexities of cloud-native architectures and understand the nuances of microservices. Your expertise in automation drives you to streamline processes, and you have practical experience with scripting languages like Bash and Python, which you use to automate repetitive tasks effectively.

You are familiar with monitoring, telemetry, and observability tools such as New Relic — you know how to implement effective monitoring solutions that provide insights into system performance and reliability. Your experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi allows you to manage infrastructure efficiently, ensuring that deployments are consistent and repeatable.

You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams — you understand the importance of knowledge sharing and are committed to improving team processes. You are comfortable taking on on-call responsibilities and thrive in environments where you can lead DevOps initiatives and set up best practices.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead DevOps efforts at Veem, setting up processes and a roadmap for DevOps practices that enhance the quality and velocity of deployments. You will deploy and maintain critical applications on a cloud-native microservices architecture, ensuring that systems are robust and scalable. Your responsibilities will include implementing automation strategies and effective monitoring solutions to optimize performance.

You will deploy and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments, working closely with engineering teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery of applications. Your role will involve iterating on best practices to continuously improve deployment processes and sharing knowledge throughout the engineering team to foster a culture of collaboration and learning.

You will also have on-call responsibilities in rotation with the engineering team, ensuring that systems remain operational and that any issues are addressed promptly. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Veem's payment solutions, helping to empower businesses around the world.
