Who you are
You have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience leading product development from initial concept through to mass production. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside hardware engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers to create cutting-edge products. Your expertise in component selection and schematic development allows you to effectively manage hardware specifications and requirements. You are skilled in quickly prototyping new product concepts, ensuring that your designs meet both functional and aesthetic standards. You understand the importance of maintaining comprehensive documentation, including Hardware Requirements Documents, to capture all necessary specifications.
Desirable
Experience with embedded systems and familiarity with industry-standard design tools such as AutoCAD or KiCAD would be beneficial. A passion for innovation and a desire to work on products that enhance safety and efficiency in organizations will set you apart.
What you'll do
As a Hardware Engineer at Verkada, you will lead the electrical engineering efforts for new products, guiding them from proof of concept to mass production. You will collaborate with an international team, ensuring that all aspects of product design are aligned with the company's vision for integrated, AI-powered security solutions. Your role will involve selecting components and developing schematics that adhere to the architecture you create. You will also be responsible for maintaining the Hardware Requirements Document, ensuring it accurately reflects all system-level and component-level specifications. Prototyping new product concepts will be a key part of your responsibilities, allowing you to bring innovative ideas to life and contribute to the development of products that organizations trust for their security needs.
