Who you are
You have a B.S., M.S., or PhD. in engineering, such as robotics, mechanical, electrical, or computer science, and possess 5-8 years of industry experience working in manufacturing quality control. Your hands-on experience with CAN bus, Ethernet data logging, and high voltage powertrains makes you a strong candidate for this role. You are excited about applying AI and robotics solutions in a service used by millions of people and are eager to contribute to the development of autonomous delivery robots.
You have a proven track record of bringing up and calibrating sensing or compute systems, and you understand the intricacies of communication networks. Your experience in vendorizing existing test processes demonstrates your ability to enhance efficiency and quality control in manufacturing environments. You thrive in collaborative settings, working with leaders and engineers across design, manufacturing, and testing to incorporate changes that improve assembly processes.
Desirable
Experience with automation solutions and a passion for robotics will set you apart. Familiarity with scripting and tooling for rapid end-of-line checks is a plus, as is any background in scaling assembly workforce processes. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges and improving production workflows.
What you'll do
As an End of Line Engineer at DoorDash Labs, you will play a critical role in scaling the production of next-generation autonomous delivery robots. You will work closely with the Hardware team based in San Francisco and visit production facilities around the Bay Area, ensuring that the assembly process is efficient and meets quality standards. Your responsibilities will include creating scripts and test equipment to enable rapid end-of-line checks, which will help reduce validation time while increasing quality control coverage.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to vendorize existing test processes, allowing for the scaling of the assembly workforce. Your role will involve hands-on work with the latest robotics technology, and you will be instrumental in developing and manufacturing autonomous delivery robots that enhance DoorDash's core delivery platform.
