Vonage is hiring a Lead SDET to design and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for cloud communications. You'll work with Python, TypeScript, and AWS to ensure high-performance telecom platforms. This role requires strong experience in testing telecommunications systems.
Job Description
Who you are
You have strong experience testing telecommunications or CPaaS platforms, bringing a deep understanding of the unique challenges in this domain. Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, and S3 is essential for this role. Your automation development skills in TypeScript and Python are well-honed, allowing you to create robust testing frameworks. You also possess solid experience with performance testing tools like JMeter, k6, and Gatling, which are crucial for validating system performance.
Your background includes experience testing distributed systems, microservices, and high-throughput APIs, giving you a comprehensive view of the testing landscape. You have a strong understanding of QA principles within Agile/Scrum environments, enabling you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Your analytical and problem-solving capabilities are top-notch, allowing you to identify performance bottlenecks and architectural risks early in the development process.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Python and TypeScript (Playwright). You will build and execute end-to-end, API, integration, and regression test suites to ensure the quality of our cloud-native applications. Leading performance, load, stress, scalability testing, and chaos engineering across high-availability telecom platforms will be a key responsibility. You will validate real-time communication systems and event-driven architectures, ensuring they meet performance, resilience, scalability, and availability standards.
Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines will be essential to enable continuous delivery. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams within Agile ceremonies, contributing to the continuous improvement of QA processes and engineering standards. Your role will also involve identifying quality gaps early and ensuring that systems are robust and reliable.
