You have 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, with a strong focus on cloud-native technologies and infrastructure management. Your expertise in Kubernetes allows you to manage large-scale deployments effectively, ensuring high availability and resilience across multiple regions. You are proficient in programming languages such as Python and Go, which you use to build custom solutions that enhance developer workflows and automate processes. Your understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles enables you to design and implement robust automation strategies that simplify cloud complexity for developers.

You possess a deep understanding of cloud architecture and are skilled in identifying gaps in existing systems. This allows you to create high-level self-service workflows that empower developers while maintaining security and compliance. Your experience with policy-as-code frameworks, such as Kyverno, ensures that you can implement automated guardrails that protect multi-tenant environments without hindering productivity. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the architectural vision for Vonage's Internal Developer Platform (IDP), ensuring that it aligns with the company's long-term goals. You will be responsible for the lifecycle management of the global Kubernetes footprint, utilizing EKS and GKE to deliver a seamless experience for developers. Your work will involve designing and implementing self-service workflows that abstract away cloud complexities, enabling developers to focus on building innovative solutions.

You will engineer custom controllers and API integrations using Go, ensuring that the service catalog remains up-to-date and functional. This involves automating the ingestion of data from Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines to maintain a live service catalog that developers can rely on. Your role will also include architecting automated guardrails that ensure compliance and security across multi-tenant clusters, allowing for a secure and efficient development environment.

Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices. You will also mentor junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and contribute effectively to the team. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Vonage's engineering culture, driving innovation in cloud communications.
