Vonage is seeking a Senior Voice Engineer to design and enhance global enterprise voice systems. You'll work with SIP technologies and support carrier-grade voice infrastructure in Wroclaw, Poland.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 7–10+ years of experience in voice engineering, operations, or telecom infrastructure β€” you've designed and maintained complex voice systems that ensure high call quality and uptime. Your strong understanding of SIP stack architecture allows you to troubleshoot call setup and signaling issues effectively.

Hands-on experience with SBCs and policy servers is essential β€” you are familiar with Ribbon technology and understand how to optimize voice routing and quality of service. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Cloud, Network, and Security to deliver reliable and secure services.

You are comfortable participating in an on-call rotation and responding to high-severity incidents β€” your experience supporting 24x7 operations has equipped you with the skills to manage critical situations calmly and efficiently. Your proactive approach to implementing monitoring, alerting, and automation contributes to operational excellence.

Desirable

Familiarity with unified communications and contact center solutions is a plus β€” you understand the broader context of voice engineering within business communications. You are eager to innovate and improve existing systems, always looking for ways to enhance performance and reliability.

What you'll do

In this role, you will support and maintain Vonage's voice infrastructure, including SBCs, policy servers, and voice gateways β€” your expertise will ensure that our global enterprise voice systems operate smoothly. You will troubleshoot SIP signaling and call flow issues across various platforms, playing a critical role in maintaining service quality.

You will participate in an on-call rotation, responding to high-severity incidents as needed β€” your ability to manage these situations will be vital for maintaining uptime and customer satisfaction. Collaborating closely with DevOps, Cloud, Network, and Security teams, you will ensure that our services are both reliable and secure.

Your responsibilities will also include partnering with vendors for platform updates and tuning β€” you will be instrumental in driving improvements and escalations when necessary. Additionally, you will contribute to the documentation, design, and continuous improvement of the voice environment, ensuring that best practices are followed and knowledge is shared across the team.
