Overview
Waabi is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer to work directly with engineering teams on product security. You'll conduct threat assessments and develop security standards for autonomous vehicle technology. This role requires expertise in C/C++, Rust, and security automation.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in cybersecurity engineering, with hands-on experience in securing complex systems. Your expertise includes conducting formal Threat Assessment and Risk Analysis (TARA) to define security requirements for vehicle Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and autonomous stacks. You are familiar with developing data integrity standards for CAN and Automotive Ethernet, effectively blocking injection and spoofing attacks. Your experience extends to threat modeling for new infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities in fleet management and diagnostic tools.
You possess a solid understanding of automated security testing requirements, including protocol fuzzing for software build pipelines. You can translate high-level security goals into actionable engineering specifications, collaborating closely with senior architects. Your skills also include designing Hardware Security Module (HSM) integrations to establish a hardware-rooted Chain of Trust, as well as architecting secure boot and Over-The-Air (OTA) update mechanisms using cryptographic signing to prevent unauthorized code execution.
Your programming skills in C/C++ and/or Rust are complemented by your familiarity with securing IoT cloud architectures and managing secure data pipelines between edge devices and backends. You have hands-on experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), digital signatures, and encryption as applied to Secure Boot, OTA, and hardware-based Roots of Trust.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be the main point of contact for product security, working directly with engineering teams to ensure the security of Waabi's innovative self-driving technology. You will conduct formal TARA assessments to define security requirements for vehicle ECUs and autonomous stacks, ensuring that security is integrated into the product development lifecycle from the outset.
You will develop data integrity standards for CAN and Automotive Ethernet, effectively blocking injection and spoofing attacks. Your responsibilities will include performing threat modeling for new infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities in fleet management and diagnostic tools, and specifying automated security testing requirements, including protocol fuzzing for the software build pipeline.
You will collaborate with senior architects to translate high-level security goals into actionable engineering specifications, ensuring that security considerations are embedded in the design and implementation of systems. Additionally, you will design Hardware Security Module (HSM) integrations to establish a hardware-rooted Chain of Trust, architect secure boot and OTA update mechanisms using cryptographic signing to prevent unauthorized code execution, and develop security automation and design validation tools.
What we offer
Waabi offers a dynamic work environment where you can contribute to cutting-edge technology in the field of autonomous driving. You will be part of a world-class team that values innovation and collaboration. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe diverse teams build better products. Join us in our mission to bring the promise of self-driving technology closer to commercialization.
