Who you are

You have 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field — you've successfully built complex data engineering projects from conception to deployment. Your expertise includes designing and implementing data models that meet business needs, ensuring data quality, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. You are highly collaborative, working closely with data producers and consumers to understand their data needs and provide effective solutions. You have a proven track record of handling sensitive data responsibly, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. Your technical skills include proficiency in SQL and Python, as well as experience with data pipeline tools like Airflow and data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery and PostgreSQL.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with data visualization tools. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality data solutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support Waymo's commercialization efforts. You will design, build, and maintain data warehouse and pipeline solutions that bring in and transform raw data for reporting and insights. Your responsibilities will include implementing a data quality framework to ensure the integrity of the data and maintaining documentation for all data processes. You will collaborate with various teams across Waymo to understand their data needs and provide consultation on data solutions. Your work will directly contribute to optimizing Waymo's commercialization tracking and enhancing the overall data strategy.

Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $204,000—$259,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
