You understand the intricacies of training and fine-tuning models, and you are skilled in implementing novel algorithms that enhance system performance. Your analytical mindset allows you to evaluate complex data sets and derive actionable insights that drive improvements in machine learning systems.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable systems that train and fine-tune large-scale generative models, focusing on producing and evaluating realistic driving behaviors. You will lead the implementation of novel reinforcement learning algorithms and develop reward functions tailored for generating high-fidelity driving scenarios. Your work will directly contribute to the enhancement of the Waymo Driver, improving its performance and reliability.

You will collaborate closely with the DUE ML Core London team, leveraging your expertise to improve evaluation systems and developer onboarding journeys. Your contributions will involve designing and executing experiments that assess the effectiveness of various machine learning techniques, ensuring that the Waymo Driver remains at the forefront of autonomous driving technology.

You will also engage in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team. Your insights will help shape the direction of machine learning initiatives at Waymo, as you work to push the boundaries of what is possible in autonomous driving.
