Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders makes you a valuable team member.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the iOS application that allows users to hail and control Waymo's autonomous vehicles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build user-facing products that are not only functional but also intuitive and engaging. Your work will involve solving novel human-computer interaction problems, ensuring that the application meets the needs of users while maintaining high standards of safety and reliability.
You will collaborate with product managers and designers to define the user experience and translate it into technical specifications. Your role will also involve working with vehicle and robotics engineers to integrate the application with the Waymo Driver, ensuring seamless communication between the app and the vehicle. You will focus on building complex user experiences that inspire trust in autonomous technology, leveraging your skills in iOS development and understanding of client-server architectures.
As part of the engineering team, you will participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and mentor junior engineers. You will also be involved in testing and debugging the application, ensuring that it performs optimally under various conditions. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience and the overall success of Waymo's autonomous driving technology.
