You have 5+ years of experience in UX engineering, with a strong focus on design systems and tooling. Your background includes leading projects that enhance user experience through intuitive design and effective tooling solutions. You are proficient in Figma and Adobe XD, and you have a solid understanding of front-end technologies like JavaScript and React. You thrive in multidisciplinary teams and enjoy collaborating with UX designers, researchers, and engineers to create seamless user experiences.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to articulate design concepts and technical requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your experience includes working in agile environments, where you have successfully contributed to the iterative design process. You are passionate about making technology accessible and user-friendly, and you understand the importance of user feedback in shaping design decisions.

Desirable

Experience with additional design tools and frameworks is a plus. Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices in UX design will enhance your candidacy. You may also have experience in mentoring junior team members, helping them grow their skills in UX engineering and design.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the technical design and development of design systems and tooling at Waymo. You will collaborate closely with UX designers and researchers to ensure that the design systems meet user needs and enhance the overall user experience. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining design documentation, developing reusable components, and ensuring consistency across various platforms and products.

You will also be involved in conducting user research and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions.
