You are an MS or PhD student with a strong interest in autonomous driving technology and machine learning. You have a foundational understanding of reinforcement learning and are eager to apply your knowledge in a practical setting. You thrive in collaborative environments and are excited about the opportunity to work with industry leaders on impactful projects. You are motivated to learn and grow, and you understand the importance of rigorous evaluation in machine learning models.
What you'll do
As a Summer Intern at Waymo, you will design and implement experiments for post-training of large behavior models. You will evaluate and iterate on the model within a closed-loop simulation environment to rigorously assess its performance and identify failure modes. You will leverage modern reinforcement learning techniques to improve the Waymo Driver's onboard performance in real-world scenarios. Your work will contribute to the mission of scaling the production Waymo Driver and enhancing mobility solutions.

The hourly pay for this position is $70 for Masters students and $85 for PhD students.
