Who you are

You have a strong background in software and systems engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining large-scale, fault-tolerant systems. Your experience includes optimizing existing systems and developing automated solutions to enhance performance and reliability. You are proficient in Linux and have hands-on experience with Python, enabling you to write scripts and tools that streamline operations. Your familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes allows you to manage complex deployments effectively. You understand the importance of monitoring and measuring system performance, and you are skilled at using various tools to ensure high availability. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with other engineers to meet internal business needs and improve system reliability. Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is a plus, as it enhances your ability to manage infrastructure and services in a scalable manner. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools will further strengthen your contributions to the team. What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end availability and performance of Waymo's autonomous systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that meet the company's operational needs. Your involvement will span the entire lifecycle of services, from inception and design through deployment and ongoing operation. You will develop automated solutions to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement. Your work will directly impact the reliability of the Waymo Driver, contributing to the safety and efficiency of autonomous transportation. You will also participate in incident management and troubleshooting, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly and effectively. Your contributions will help shape the future of mobility, making a significant difference in how people experience transportation.
