You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in autonomous systems or robotics, and have a strong foundation in both Java and Python. Your background includes working on complex technical challenges, particularly in motion planning and decision-making systems. You are passionate about Level 4 autonomous driving and have a keen interest in improving low-speed maneuvering performance. You enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Your expertise in machine learning and deep learning allows you to contribute effectively to the development of advanced algorithms that enhance the Waymo Driver's capabilities. You are comfortable working with large datasets and have experience in evaluating on-road performance metrics. You thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing technical leadership with hands-on contributions to projects.
Desirable
Experience with robotics frameworks and simulation tools is a plus. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and data analysis tools will help you excel in this role. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges and finding innovative solutions.
What you'll do
In this role, you will provide technical leadership for onboard motion planning systems, focusing on enhancing the Waymo Driver's low-speed maneuvering performance.
