Who you are

You have significant experience with Node.js and a strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals — you know the difference between heap and stack, different time complexities, and which patterns to use and when. You are ambitious and might want to build your own company one day or have tackled the toughest tech problems just for fun. You enjoy writing JavaScript or TypeScript and have an eye for performance, whether thinking about the latest client-side bundling techniques or the proper way to shard a MongoDB database. You are just as comfortable working in a browser context or a Node.js runtime and are a team player with good communication skills.

Experience working in high-traffic, low-latency applications is a plus, as is good DevOps experience and knowledge of Digital Signal Processing. Strong SQL knowledge will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Zencastr, you will empower the voices of the world by building and enhancing our podcasting platform. You will collaborate with a fully distributed team of smart individuals who are passionate about changing the world one voice at a time. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing high-performance applications, optimizing existing systems for speed and efficiency, and contributing to the overall architecture of our platform. You will also engage in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and ensure that best practices in coding and security are followed throughout the development process.

You will work closely with product managers and designers to translate user needs into technical specifications, ensuring that the end-user experience is seamless and enjoyable. Your role will involve continuous learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies, as well as contributing to open-source projects that align with our mission.
