What you'll do

As a Machine Learning Engineer Intern at Zoox, you will be assigned to one of several teams within the Autonomy Behavior group. On the Hydra team, you will explore ways to improve introspection for the ML planner and enhance model performance through experiments. You will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid planning system that combines learned components with search-based supervisor systems, gaining hands-on experience in developing innovative solutions.

On the Onboard Behavior Encoder team, you will model and scale machine learning architectures that enable behavior in autonomous vehicles. This role will allow you to contribute to the real-world driving behavior of the robotaxi, focusing on improving the performance of the ML Planner and developing methods for analyzing and explaining its decisions.

Throughout your internship, you will benefit from mentorship by leading experts in autonomous driving and machine learning research, gaining insights into the latest advancements in the field. You will also have the chance to demonstrate your work both in simulation and on actual robots, providing a unique opportunity to see the impact of your contributions.
