Who you are

You have a strong background in machine learning and 3D graphics, with experience in simulating sensors such as cameras, lidar, and radar. Your expertise in GenAI and modern graphics techniques allows you to bridge the gap between simulation and reality effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate and improve simulation fidelity. You are passionate about creating high-fidelity synthetic data for training and testing autonomous vehicle AI, and you understand the importance of real-time sensor data for hardware-in-the-loop simulation.

You possess a solid understanding of the algorithms and methodologies used in machine learning, particularly in the context of sensor data. Your analytical skills enable you to assess the performance of your simulations and iterate on your designs to achieve optimal results. You are comfortable working with large datasets and have experience in data validation and testing. You are also familiar with the infrastructure required for testing and validating algorithms, ensuring that your work meets the highest standards of quality.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning algorithms to simulate various sensors. You will collaborate with the Sensor Simulation, Perception, and Verification & Validation (V&V) teams to evaluate the performance of your simulations and iteratively improve their fidelity. Your work will be crucial in generating high-quality synthetic data that will be used for training and testing autonomous vehicle AI systems.

You will have access to some of the best sensor data in the world, allowing you to create realistic simulations that closely mimic real-world scenarios. Your role will involve not only algorithm development but also testing and validating your work against actual sensor data to ensure accuracy and reliability. You will participate in team meetings to discuss progress, share insights, and brainstorm solutions to challenges that arise during the simulation process.

You will also be expected to document your work thoroughly, providing clear explanations of your methodologies and results. This documentation will be essential for knowledge sharing within the team and for future reference. As you grow in your role, you may have opportunities to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall development of the team's capabilities.
