Who you are

You have experience in operations management, ideally within a technology or automotive environment — you understand the complexities of coordinating teams and ensuring mission success in high-stakes situations. You are a disciplined team player who believes in doing everything it takes to accomplish the mission safely, leading by example and fostering a collaborative environment.

As a Shift Lead, you are hands-on with your team, working alongside them daily to ensure they understand and execute both short- and long-term targets. You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to interact effectively with leaders across various departments, including Fleet Operations, TeleGuidance, PMO, User Experience, and Product.

You are adept at coordinating and streamlining processes that support Fleet Operations, ensuring that all software and hardware tests are executed to Zoox’s high standards. Your ability to lead and mentor a diverse team of remote operators, teleoperators, and mission control associates is crucial to the success of the Fusion Center Operations team.

Desirable

Experience in autonomous vehicle operations or a related field would be beneficial, as would familiarity with remote operations and teleoperation workflows. A background in technology or engineering can enhance your ability to understand the tools and features relevant to the role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead a team of tacticians responsible for ensuring that autonomous vehicles complete their missions effectively. You will work closely with your team to develop a deep understanding of the tools and features related to TeleOps workflows, coordinating efforts to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

You will be responsible for setting clear expectations and targets for your team, ensuring they are equipped to meet both immediate and long-term operational goals. Your leadership will involve daily interactions with team members, providing guidance and support as they navigate complex scenarios in real-time.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will interact with various departments to facilitate communication and ensure alignment on operational objectives. You will also play a critical role in feature product development and structured testing, serving as the operations link between the software and operations departments.

Your hands-on approach will help instill a culture of excellence within your team, as you lead by example and ensure that all operational standards are met. You will also be involved in training and mentoring team members, fostering their professional growth and development within the organization.
