Performance Engineer • Mid-Level

Who you are

You have a strong background in performance engineering, with experience in building scalable systems and a passion for learning new technologies. Your expertise in Java and Python allows you to develop effective load testing tools and frameworks that help identify bottlenecks in systems. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with architects, developers, and product teams to ensure high availability and performance of applications.

You are skilled in devising test strategies for large-scale, multi-tenant systems in the cloud, and you understand the importance of integrating performance considerations early in the development process. Your experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as message brokers, equips you to handle diverse data storage solutions effectively. You are familiar with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and can leverage them to enhance system performance.

Desirable

Experience with profiling and performance tuning is a plus, as is familiarity with open-source tools that facilitate load testing and performance monitoring. You enjoy building tools that solve meaningful problems and are eager to contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.

What you'll do

In this role, you will play a key part in building a culture of engineering performant systems at Zuora. You will devise scalability and high-availability test strategies for our large-scale, multi-tier, multi-tenant systems in the cloud. Collaborating with architects, developers, and product teams, you will design and develop home-grown load testing tools and frameworks that orchestrate and execute complex load test scenarios with ease.

You will develop automated performance and scalability testing that accurately reflects real-world customer use cases, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance. Defining, designing, and implementing benchmarks to generate relevant system metrics will be a critical part of your responsibilities. You will also identify bottlenecks and validate improvements in scalability, release by release, contributing to the overall success of our products.
