Job Description

Who you are

Your creativity shines through in your ability to source and create best-in-class content that resonates with audiences across various platforms.

You have a knack for leveraging both established and emerging social media platforms — whether it's LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram, you understand how to tailor content to maximize engagement and advocacy. You are a self-starter who thrives in collaborative environments, working closely with product, research, and education teams to integrate content into broader media efforts.

Your skills in copywriting and digital marketing enable you to craft messages that educate and inspire — you are passionate about using social media as a tool for public engagement and advocacy. You are not just a content creator; you are an activist at heart, eager to raise the bar for content creation within the social media space.

Desirable

Experience with analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of social media campaigns would be a plus — you understand the importance of data-driven decision-making in optimizing content strategies. Familiarity with graphic design tools can enhance your content creation process, allowing you to produce visually appealing posts that capture attention.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy for the 23andMe Research Institute — your goal will be to engage both new and existing customers through innovative content that educates the public about genetic information and health. You will actively seek opportunities to generate advocacy and engagement, ensuring that the organization's mission is communicated effectively across all channels.

You will collaborate with internal teams to create content that aligns with product launches, research findings, and educational initiatives — your ability to integrate content into paid media efforts will be crucial in maximizing reach and impact. You will also leverage earned media opportunities to amplify the organization's message and engage with a broader audience.

Your role will involve monitoring social media trends and conversations, allowing you to adapt strategies in real-time — you will be the voice of the organization on social media, fostering conversations that resonate with the community. You will also be responsible for analyzing the performance of social media campaigns, using insights to refine and improve future content strategies.
