Your experience with NoSQL databases such as Aerospike, Cassandra, or MongoDB equips you with the knowledge to tackle challenges in performance and scalability. You understand the nuances of deploying and managing distributed systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency in operations. Your familiarity with SRE or DevOps practices enhances your ability to drive performance and reliability in the systems your team develops.

You are a strategic thinker who can align engineering goals with business objectives. You have a proven track record of setting measurable goals and ensuring your team delivers on them consistently. Your communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product, SRE, and executive stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience with performance profiling and system telemetry is a plus, as it allows you to make informed decisions about system improvements. Familiarity with developer-platform design will help you create tools that enhance the developer experience and streamline operations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development of Aerospike’s platform management and automation systems, focusing on the Kubernetes Operator and observability frameworks. You will manage a talented group of engineers, guiding them in building solutions that provide deployment automation, lifecycle management, and performance visibility for Aerospike’s distributed database platform.

You will partner with Product, SRE, and Core Database teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables. Your leadership will be crucial in setting measurable objectives and driving your team to meet company OKRs. You will also be responsible for mentoring your team members, helping them grow in their careers while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Your role will involve hands-on technical work, allowing you to stay engaged with the engineering process while providing strategic direction. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful execution of projects, addressing any challenges that arise along the way.
