Overview
Affirm is seeking a Capital Markets Manager to develop and execute the Capital Markets strategy, focusing on funding for their consumer point-of-sale lending business. This role requires 5+ years of experience in structured finance or related fields.
Job Description
Who you are
You have over 5 years of experience in structured finance, fixed-income investing, trading, private equity, consulting, or product/strategy roles — you understand the complexities of capital markets and how they drive business success. You possess strong technical and interpersonal skills, enabling you to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders. You are detail-oriented and have a strategic mindset, allowing you to contribute meaningfully to the development and execution of Affirm's Capital Markets strategy.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy building and managing relationships with investors — your ability to negotiate and structure deals is complemented by your understanding of the broader corporate initiatives that impact Affirm's business. You are eager to learn and adapt, taking the initiative to deepen your understanding of Affirm's operations and how Capital Markets fits into the overall strategy.
Desirable
Experience in consumer finance or payments platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with the latest trends in structured finance. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are motivated by the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's growth and funding strategies.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop a strong understanding of Affirm’s business from a unique perspective, learning how Capital Markets fits into broader corporate initiatives. You will play a meaningful role in developing and executing on Capital Markets strategy, including owning significant components of live transactions. You will take charge of the deal processes from start to finish, which includes structuring, negotiation, documentation, and execution.
You will be responsible for driving communication with Engineering, Product, Commercial, and Credit/Risk teams to scale Affirm’s capital platform and funding strategy. Building and managing relationships with existing and potential investors will be a key part of your role, ensuring that Affirm has the necessary funding to support its growth.
