Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in managing teams and delivering complex technical projects. Your leadership style is empathetic, fostering a high-performance culture that encourages ownership and inclusivity among your team members.
You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and possess the strategic mindset to craft and execute multi-quarter roadmaps. Your experience includes working with data systems, OLAP and OLTP databases, and analytics tools, which positions you well to lead the Lakehouse Analytics team at Affirm.
You have a proven track record of collaborating with product stakeholders to define architectural and organizational future states that align with business needs. Your ability to make balanced decisions will help guide your team towards achieving Affirm's vision for data management.
Desirable
Experience with event-driven frameworks and batch orchestration is a plus, as is familiarity with BI tools and systems. You understand the importance of data integrity and security, and you are committed to providing trustworthy solutions for data storage and analysis.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead a team of engineers and managers, overseeing the development of frameworks, systems, and tools for new Affirm products. You will be responsible for setting the technical direction and ensuring that your team meets its goals while maintaining a high standard of quality.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to drive the execution of projects that enhance Affirm's data capabilities. Your leadership will be crucial in mentoring team members, helping them grow in their roles and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
You will also be involved in defining the architectural vision for the Lakehouse Analytics team, ensuring that the solutions developed are scalable and efficient. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential in this role.
