Amazon is hiring an ASIC Engineer specializing in Physical Design to innovate on silicon IP for Echo devices. You'll work with RTL designers and drive physical design closure while collaborating with third-party services. This role requires 5+ years of experience in ASIC Physical Design.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in ASIC Physical Design from RTL to GDSII in FINFET technology. Your expertise includes driving architectural feasibility studies and exploring power-performance-area tradeoffs for physical design closure at both the block and subsystem levels. You are skilled in block physical implementation, including synthesis, formal verification, floor planning, bus and pin planning, place and route, power and clock distribution, congestion analysis, timing closure, IR drop analysis, physical verification, ECO, and sign-off.
You thrive in collaborative environments and are a highly-valued member of your team, working closely with other physical design engineers as well as RTL and architecture teams. Your experience includes driving and developing physical design tool features, flow automations, and methodology enhancements to achieve PPA goals and meet low power requirements. You are committed to delivering quality first-pass silicon that meets all performance, power, and area goals, and you have a strong understanding of working with third-party design and fabrication services.
What you'll do
In this role, you will work with RTL and logic designers to drive architectural feasibility studies and explore power-performance-area tradeoffs for physical design closure. You will be responsible for driving block physical implementation through various processes, including synthesis, formal verification, floor planning, bus and pin planning, place and route, and ensuring timing closure. You will also conduct power and clock distribution analysis, congestion analysis, and IR drop analysis, as well as physical verification and ECO sign-off.
Your role will involve close collaboration with third-party design and fabrication services to ensure the delivery of high-quality silicon that meets all performance, power, and area goals. You will also be tasked with driving and developing physical design tool features and flow automations to enhance methodologies and achieve PPA goals. You will work in a start-up-like environment, fostering excellent collaboration and teamwork with other physical design engineers and the RTL/architecture teams.
What we offer
At Amazon Lab126, you will be part of a team that is revolutionizing user experiences through innovative products like the Kindle and Echo. We offer a dynamic work environment where you can contribute to cutting-edge technology and make a significant impact on our customers' lives.
