Your proactive approach to planned preventative maintenance and emergency response is critical to maintaining seamless operations.

You possess a strong understanding of AWS infrastructure services, which allows you to support the design, planning, delivery, and operation of global infrastructure — your role is pivotal in ensuring that millions of customers have continual access to the services they rely on. You thrive in environments that require collaboration with diverse teams, including software, hardware, and network engineers, as well as supply chain specialists and security experts.

What you'll do

As the Data Center Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center — your leadership will ensure that all systems are maintained to the highest standards. You will implement planned preventative maintenance schedules and respond to daily corrective work, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly to minimize downtime.

You will serve as an expert technical resource, guiding onsite Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinating with third-party vendors to ensure that all facility operations run smoothly. Your role will involve analyzing operational data to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency and reliability.

Collaboration is key in this position; you will work closely with various teams across AWS to tackle complex challenges that impact the supply chain and overall infrastructure. Your contributions will directly influence the performance and reliability of AWS services, making a significant impact on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
