Job Description
Who you are
You have experience in Critical Infrastructure Commissioning, particularly in data centers, and understand the complexities involved in ensuring that systems meet engineering designs and customer requirements. You are familiar with various systems including medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, and chilled water systems. Your background allows you to provide multi-discipline input into scheduling, test script development, and project planning. You are detail-oriented and capable of reviewing component submittal packages and leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT).
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with vendors, contractors, and other teams to ensure the successful commissioning of systems. Your ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams is essential, as you will be managing expectations and ensuring quality throughout the commissioning process. You are proactive in identifying challenges and are committed to delivering the best results for customers.
What you'll do
As a Commissioning Engineer at Amazon, you will be part of a highly creative and efficient team tasked with building and supporting the operations of AWS-owned data centers and colocation facilities. You will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning of various systems, ensuring they meet the required standards and specifications. This includes developing test scripts, performing system-level testing, and conducting integrated system testing to validate that all components work together seamlessly.
You will lead the Factory Witness Testing (FWT) process, ensuring that all systems are tested and validated before they are put into operation. Your role will involve continuous monitoring and evaluation of construction quality, working closely with construction teams to address any issues that arise. You will also be involved in the planning and scheduling of commissioning activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
In addition to technical responsibilities, you will play a key role in mentoring junior engineers and sharing your expertise with the team. You will contribute to the development of best practices and processes that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the commissioning team. Your work will directly impact the reliability and performance of AWS data centers, making a significant contribution to the overall success of the organization.
