Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in controls engineering with at least 5 years of experience in designing and developing industrial control systems. Your expertise includes working with Allen Bradley PLCs and CODESYS, and you are comfortable developing hardware and firmware interfaces for IoT solutions. You have a solid understanding of PLC, HMI, and vision systems, and you thrive in a collaborative environment where you can challenge existing processes and drive improvements.
You are detail-oriented and have a knack for problem-solving, which allows you to identify opportunities for process enhancements in complex systems. Your experience includes managing the full lifecycle of systems development, from design and architecture to testing and operations. You are passionate about advancing technology in logistics and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that enhance operational efficiency.
Desirable
Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks related to automation and control systems is a plus. Familiarity with agile methodologies and a proactive approach to project management will help you excel in this role.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex control systems that optimize Material Handling Equipment across Amazon Logistics North America. You will lead initiatives to develop and maintain PLC, IPC, and HMI software, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. Your contributions will directly impact the intelligence of our last mile business, as you will be tasked with executing innovative projects that enhance delivery station processes and equipment.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish electrical and controls specifications, ensuring that all designs meet operational requirements. Your role will involve creating and maintaining documentation for all systems developed, as well as conducting testing and validation to ensure reliability and performance.
You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge of best practices in controls engineering. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, you will help drive the success of the engineering team and contribute to the overall mission of Amazon Logistics.
