Who you are

You have a strong background in data center operations and facilities management, with at least 5 years of experience in maintaining and troubleshooting critical electrical and mechanical systems. Your expertise includes working with stand-by diesel generators, UPS units, and 3-phase electrical systems, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and reliably. You are skilled in managing complex technical environments and understand the importance of operational efficiency in supporting global infrastructure.

You possess hands-on experience with mechanical systems such as CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, and fire suppression systems. Your ability to troubleshoot and optimize these systems is crucial for maintaining the integrity of data center operations. You are a proactive problem solver who can quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable working with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in operational performance. Your communication skills allow you to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You are committed to safety and compliance, ensuring that all operations adhere to industry standards and best practices.

Desirable

Experience with building automation systems and general facilities equipment is a plus. Familiarity with AWS infrastructure services and cloud computing concepts will enhance your ability to contribute to the team. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies that can improve data center operations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the data center, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will lead troubleshooting efforts for electrical and mechanical equipment, coordinating with vendors and service providers as necessary. Your role will involve conducting regular inspections and maintenance of critical systems, including electrical support equipment and mechanical cooling systems.

You will implement best practices for operational efficiency, continuously seeking ways to improve processes and reduce costs. Your analytical skills will be essential in monitoring system performance and identifying areas for improvement. You will also be involved in training and mentoring junior staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a culture of learning and development within the team.

Collaboration with other teams, including engineering and IT, will be a key aspect of your role.
