Who you are

You are an experienced Data Center Manager with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams in a technical environment. You have a strong background in data center operations, either through building or managing facilities, and you understand the complexities involved in maintaining and optimizing these critical infrastructures. Your leadership skills enable you to foster great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors, ensuring smooth operations and collaboration.

You possess a deep understanding of operational excellence and are committed to continuous improvement. You have experience in refining processes and developing metrics that drive performance and efficiency in data center operations. Your ability to innovate and solve complex problems is key to your success in this role, as you will face unique challenges daily.

You are adept at maintaining existing data centers while also assisting in the construction and launch of new facilities. Your experience includes adhering to and exceeding local health and safety standards, ensuring that all operations meet regulatory requirements. You are a strong communicator, capable of liaising effectively with various stakeholders, including management groups and external contractors.

Desirable

Experience with service methodologies and incident management would be beneficial, as you will be involved in implementing these practices within the data center environment. A background in cloud computing infrastructure is also a plus, as it aligns with Amazon's focus on innovation and excellence in technology.

What you'll do

In your role as Data Center Manager, you will lead and develop teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise to ensure the highest levels of performance. You will be responsible for maintaining existing data centers and assisting in the construction and launch of new facilities, driving operational excellence in every aspect of your role. Your focus will be on constantly improving processes and procedures, as you believe there is always room for enhancement.

You will manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring that all partnerships contribute positively to the operational goals of the data center. Your role will involve liaising with internal teams and management groups to align on objectives and strategies, fostering a collaborative environment that supports innovation and efficiency.

You will create and maintain metrics on all aspects of the data centers, utilizing these metrics to drive positive changes and improvements. Your commitment to adhering to and exceeding local health and safety standards will be paramount, as you ensure that all operations are conducted safely and responsibly.
