Who you are

You are an experienced Data Center Manager with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams. You have a strong background in data center operations, either through building or managing facilities, and you excel at developing processes that drive operational excellence. Your ability to foster relationships with internal teams and external vendors is key to your success in this role. You understand the complexities of managing large-scale cloud computing infrastructures and are eager to tackle the challenges that come with it.

You possess strong leadership skills, having successfully managed teams of engineers and driven performance levels to meet the fast-paced demands of data center operations. Your experience includes maintaining existing data centers and assisting in the construction and launch of new facilities. You are committed to continuous improvement and believe that there is always room for enhancement in processes and procedures.

You are detail-oriented and understand the importance of adhering to health and safety standards in all operations. You are skilled at creating and maintaining metrics that provide insights into data center performance, using these metrics to implement positive changes. Your technical expertise allows you to provide both leadership and technical guidance to your team, ensuring the highest levels of performance.

Desirable

Experience with cloud computing technologies and familiarity with incident management methodologies would be advantageous. A background in process optimization and performance metrics is also beneficial.

What you'll do

As a Data Center Manager at Amazon, you will lead and develop teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise. You will be responsible for maintaining existing data centers while also playing a crucial role in building and bringing new data centers online. Your focus will be on optimizing operational processes and driving performance levels to meet the demands of our rapidly growing infrastructure.

You will work closely with internal teams and management groups to ensure that all operations adhere to and exceed local health and safety standards. Your role will involve liaising with external vendors and contractors, managing relationships that are vital to the success of our operations. You will create and maintain metrics on all aspects of our data centers, utilizing these insights to drive positive changes and improvements.

In this position, you will be expected to innovate and solve complex problems that arise in the management of our data centers. You will assist in implementing service methodologies that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence within your team, encouraging continuous improvement and high performance.
