Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in data center operations and management, with experience leading diverse teams in hardware and network diagnostics. You are skilled in prioritizing tasks and managing performance effectively, ensuring that your team operates efficiently in a 24/7 environment. Your organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively are critical to your success in this role. You are also comfortable working independently and are willing to participate in an on-call rotation as needed. Your knowledge of hardware and network repair is complemented by your ability to innovate solutions and create documentation that supports operational excellence.
Desirable
Experience in recruiting and training data technicians is a plus, as is familiarity with operational KPIs and performance metrics. You are a fast learner and can act as a subject matter expert across all aspects of data center operations, contributing to site-level project work and fixing complex problems as they arise.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be operationally responsible for a data center, overseeing the performance of your team and ensuring that all operational tasks are completed efficiently. You will prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly. Your leadership will involve developing career paths for your employees and making updates in internal tools to enhance team performance. You will also manage day-to-day operations, including queue management and hardware logistics, to ensure that staffing levels are appropriate and that all operational KPIs are met.
You will work closely with your team to foster a collaborative environment, encouraging innovation and problem-solving. Your role will require you to adapt to changing operational demands, including managing a night shift schedule. You will be responsible for ensuring that your team is well-trained and equipped to handle the challenges of a fast-paced data center environment.
