Job Description
Who you are
You are an entry-level technician eager to dive into the world of data center operations. You have a foundational understanding of IT principles, including computer architecture and the OSI model, which you apply to solve real-world problems. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by a hands-on approach to technical issues, making you a reliable team member in maintaining system reliability.
You are comfortable engaging in physical data center activities, whether it involves planning capacity, deploying racks, or troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Your ability to prioritize and resolve trouble tickets efficiently ensures that you contribute to the high reliability of the systems you support. You are also willing to meet the 24x7 on-call requirements that come with the role, demonstrating your commitment to the team's success.
What you'll do
As a Data Center Technician, you will be the primary resolver for a range of data center infrastructure issues. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting technical issues across various platforms, from systems to power and mechanical components. You will engage in deep dives into Linux server issues and XEN service virtualization troubleshooting, ensuring that all systems operate smoothly.
You will also participate in remediation efforts for physical layer outages and recovery of power issues on racks. Your role will require you to collaborate closely with other team members to maintain the data center's operational integrity. You will be involved in planning and tracking capacity, as well as rack deployment and cabling, which are critical to the efficient functioning of the data center.
