Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in embedded software engineering, with a strong background in developing software for hardware devices. Your expertise includes designing, implementing, and deploying embedded systems that are reliable and efficient. You are proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, and Rust, and you understand the intricacies of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and Linux environments. Your knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, and DHCP, allows you to create robust communication systems for embedded devices. You are familiar with cryptography and security practices, ensuring that the software you develop is secure and resilient against threats.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communication systems or similar technologies is a plus. Familiarity with traffic classification, filtering, and quality of service concepts will help you excel in this role. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing embedded software for Amazon's Leo Customer Terminals, which are crucial for providing internet connectivity to underserved areas. You will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from gathering requirements to design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support. Your work will involve creating software that operates efficiently on embedded devices, ensuring that they meet performance and reliability standards. You will collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with hardware components, optimizing the overall system performance.

You will also be involved in troubleshooting and debugging software issues, providing support during the deployment phase, and ensuring that the software operates smoothly in production environments. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the Leo program, helping to deliver fast and reliable internet to customers around the world.
