Job Description
Who you are
You are currently enrolled in a co-op program and have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in your studies after your co-op concludes. You possess a strong foundation in industrial design principles and are eager to apply your skills in a real-world setting. Your experience with design software such as AutoCAD and Adobe XD will be beneficial as you collaborate with a team of experienced professionals.
You are a proactive learner who thrives in a structured environment, ready to engage with cross-disciplinary teams to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You understand the importance of teamwork and communication in achieving design goals and are excited to contribute your ideas and creativity to the projects you will be involved in.
What you'll do
As an Industrial Designer Co-op at Amazon, you will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team to design and develop consumer products. You will participate in brainstorming sessions, contribute to design concepts, and assist in creating prototypes. Your role will involve collaborating with engineers and product managers to ensure that designs meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about the product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to production. Your responsibilities will include conducting user research, gathering feedback, and iterating on designs based on insights gained from testing. This hands-on experience will provide you with valuable insights into the design process and the impact of design decisions on user experience.
What we offer
Amazon offers a competitive starting pay for this co-op position, with a salary range of $80,200.00 - $137,100.00 USD annually, depending on experience and qualifications. You will also have access to various benefits, including EAP, Mental Health Support, and a 401(k) matching program starting on Day 1 of employment. This co-op role is a full-time position, requiring you to work in the office Monday through Friday, typically between 8 am and 5 pm.
