Overview
Amazon is hiring a Senior ASIC Design Engineer for the Amazon Leo initiative to develop custom ASIC blocks for satellite technology. You'll work with RTL design, gate-level simulation, and SoC integration in Austin, Texas.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in ASIC design, with a strong background in RTL design and development of custom blocks. Your expertise includes integration of large subsystems and gate-level simulation, where you have developed and maintained comprehensive test plans for verifying ASIC functionality and timing. You are skilled at analyzing simulation results, identifying and debugging logic errors, and proposing effective solutions. Collaboration is key for you, as you work closely with design and verification engineers to validate fixes and ensure design closure.
You understand the importance of seamless integration across firmware, RTL, platform software, and platform drivers. Your experience includes developing debug tools, RTL emulation, silicon bring-up, and functional validation. You are adept at working with system architects to develop world-class SoC and IP blocks that meet power, area, and performance targets. You have a solid grasp of low power design and the impact of DFT on the blocks, and you are familiar with initial synthesis and timing analysis.
Desirable
Experience with third-party IP blocks and a strong understanding of SoC floor planning would be beneficial. Familiarity with low power design techniques and their implications on ASIC performance is a plus.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for the RTL design and development of custom ASIC blocks for Amazon Leo's satellite initiative. You will integrate large subsystems and develop comprehensive gate-level simulation test plans to verify ASIC functionality and timing. Your role will involve analyzing simulation results, debugging logic errors, and collaborating with design and verification engineers to ensure design closure. You will facilitate seamless integration across firmware, RTL, platform software, and platform drivers, contributing to the overall success of the project.
You will also develop debug tools, engage in RTL emulation, and participate in silicon bring-up and functional validation. Working closely with system architects, you will help define, configure, and integrate SoC subsystems, contributing to the SoC floor planning effort and developing any necessary support logic. Your expertise will be crucial in configuring, instantiating, and integrating third-party IP blocks, ensuring that all components work harmoniously together.
What we offer
Amazon provides a competitive salary range of $159,200.00 - $215,300.00 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including dental, vision, and prescription coverage, as well as life insurance options.
