Amazon is hiring a Senior Industrial Designer to support their Industrial Design and Development team in Shenzhen. You'll be responsible for applying design standards and collaborating with various teams to develop consumer electronics solutions. This position requires 10+ years of experience in consumer electronics design.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design and over 10 years of experience in consumer electronics design and manufacturing. Your strong English communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and program managers. You are familiar with the entire development process from concept to production, ensuring that design standards are met throughout.
Your expertise includes understanding finishing processes and manufacturing techniques specific to consumer electronics. You have experience developing and utilizing master standards for cosmetics, colors, materials, and finishes, which allows you to create aesthetically pleasing and functional designs. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy brainstorming concept designs with your team.
Desirable
Experience working with US design teams is a plus, as it helps you align design intent and criteria effectively. Familiarity with part-level and assembly-level reviews will enhance your ability to prepare ID review reports and follow up on findings until resolved.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for applying design standards related to cosmetic standards, color, material, and finish on Amazon's products. You will work closely with the Industrial Design and Development team to ensure that all designs meet the company's high standards. Your responsibilities will include brainstorming concept designs, creating ID documents, and collaborating with engineering teams on design execution.
You will conduct part-level and assembly-level reviews with suppliers and CM plants, preparing ID review reports and ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in industrial design, allowing you to contribute innovative ideas to the team. You will also be involved in setting up design intent and criteria, ensuring that all designs align with Amazon's vision for consumer electronics.
