Job Description
Who you are
You are a talented attorney with 2+ years of legal experience, holding a Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent. Your background includes experience in private practice or in-house at a technology company, ideally with knowledge in web services, cloud computing, or software licensing. You possess strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable business strategies.
You thrive in collaborative environments, engaging with cross-functional teams including technology, engineering, marketing, and business development. Your communication skills enable you to provide clear legal counsel while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. You are proactive in identifying legal risks and opportunities, ensuring that the business can navigate challenges effectively.
What you'll do
In this role, you will provide legal advice and counseling on technology transactions and general commercial matters for Amazon's Ring, Blink, Key, and Sidewalk businesses. You will be responsible for structuring, drafting, and negotiating licensing agreements and a variety of commercial agreements. Your support will extend to various teams, including senior management, technology and engineering, marketing, customer support, business development, sales, supply chain, and information security.
You will engage in dynamic interactions that challenge your legal acumen and business understanding, translating legal complexities into business opportunities. Your day will involve a blend of strategic legal counsel and collaborative problem-solving, ensuring that the legal team is seen as a strategic partner within the organization. Some travel, both domestic and international, may be required as part of your responsibilities.
