You'll collaborate with various teams to ensure safety and efficiency in construction projects. This role requires experience in construction management and knowledge of AWS infrastructure.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in construction management, ideally with experience in data center projects — you understand the complexities involved in large-scale infrastructure development and have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Your ability to collaborate with diverse teams, including engineers and supply chain specialists, sets you apart as a leader in your field.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to serve as the primary liaison between Real Estate, Design, and other stakeholders — you can articulate project goals and requirements clearly, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed throughout the construction process. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety standards are paramount in your approach to managing construction projects.
You are familiar with AWS infrastructure and the specific requirements for data center construction — your knowledge of the latest technologies and best practices in the industry allows you to implement innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable
Experience with design standards and construction processes specific to data centers is a plus — you understand the unique challenges that come with building facilities that support cloud computing and are eager to apply your expertise to improve operational efficiency. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies will help you excel in this role.
What you'll do
As a Pre-Construction Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of design standards across regional construction programs — your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that all construction projects meet the highest standards for safety, security, and efficiency. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of construction activities, ensuring that they align with AWS's operational goals.
You will work closely with Real Estate and Design teams to establish project timelines and budgets — your ability to analyze project requirements and identify potential risks will be crucial in mitigating issues before they arise. You will also coordinate with supply chain specialists to ensure that all necessary materials and resources are available for construction activities.
Your role will require you to monitor construction progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders — you will be the point of contact for any questions or concerns related to the construction process, ensuring that communication remains open and effective. You will also be involved in post-construction evaluations to assess the success of projects and identify areas for improvement.
What we offer
Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) matching program — you will have access to resources that support your health and well-being, including mental health support and flexible spending accounts. We value work-life balance and offer paid time off and parental leave to help you manage your personal and professional commitments.
You will be part of a diverse and inclusive culture that encourages innovation and collaboration — we believe that diverse teams lead to better outcomes and are committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
