Overview

Amazon is hiring a QAE I to ensure the accuracy of transactional tax calculations on their platform. You'll work with SQL, Python, and Java to test complex systems under high loads. This position is suitable for entry-level candidates.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an entry-level Quality Assurance Engineer who thrives on testing complex systems and enjoys the challenge of operating mission-critical systems under high loads. You have a foundational understanding of software internals and can debug problems using log files. You are capable of writing automated tests with scripting tools and user-level automated tools, ensuring that the applications meet the highest quality standards.

You possess strong analytical skills and are detail-oriented, allowing you to identify issues and propose effective solutions. You are a proactive individual contributor who can take tasks from start to completion with minimal guidance. Your ability to understand the domain and product in detail enables you to develop effective test strategies and plans.

What you'll do

As a QAE I at Amazon, you will be responsible for testing applications and products at both the user and code levels, utilizing both manual and automated testing methods. You will work closely with development teams to understand the requirements and ensure that the tax calculation platform operates correctly and efficiently. Your role will involve managing hundreds of millions of records and responding to millions of service requests per minute, ensuring that every transaction is accurate.

You will develop and execute test plans, identify and document defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues. Your contributions will help maintain the integrity of the tax calculation platform, ensuring compliance with global tax laws and regulations. You will also participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing feedback on processes and tools to enhance testing efficiency.
