Job Description
Who you are
You have 3+ years of quality assurance engineering experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in both manual and automated testing. Your expertise allows you to effectively own the planning, development, and execution of test plans and test cases, ensuring that features meet high-quality standards. You are skilled in reviewing user interfaces for conformity and functionality, and you have a keen eye for detail that helps you find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution. Your knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and code reviews, sets you apart as a quality advocate in every phase of the development process.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to interact effectively with users, technical teams, and senior management. You are comfortable collecting requirements and describing software product features, technical designs, and product strategies. Your collaborative nature allows you to work closely with Software Development Engineers (SDE) to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented, fostering a culture of quality within the team.
Desirable
Experience with specific testing tools and frameworks would be a plus, as would familiarity with agile methodologies. You are always looking to improve and employ testing strategies and techniques that enhance the quality of the software being developed.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for manual and automated testing of features across various platforms, including web and mobile. You will own the planning, development, and execution of test plans and test cases, ensuring that all features are thoroughly tested before release. Your role will involve reviewing user interfaces for conformity and functionality, helping to develop, improve, and employ testing strategies and techniques that align with best practices.
You will find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution, interpreting and reporting testing results to the team. As a vocal proponent for quality, you will engage in every phase of the development process, working closely with Software Development Engineers (SDE) to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented. Your contributions will help ensure that the software developed by the IES team meets the high standards expected by Amazon's customers.
