Who you are

You have a strong background in software development with a focus on networking solutions — your experience includes designing, developing, and deploying systems that manage complex network functions. You possess a deep understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, including IPv4 and IPv6 routing, subnetting, and network topology design. Your familiarity with implementing and deploying network routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, and BGP in dynamic topologies sets you apart. You are skilled in the operational characteristics of link-state and distance-vector routing protocols at scale, and you have experience with network simulation, testing, and validation tools for routing protocol verification.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers across various teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively makes you a valuable team member. You are detail-oriented and committed to building reliable systems that enhance connectivity for users in underserved areas.

Desirable

Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, is a plus. Familiarity with embedded systems and their integration into network solutions will enhance your contributions to the team. What you'll do

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in the Leo Network Services team, you will play a crucial role in engineering and building solutions required for provisioning, address management, packet inspection, and dynamic traffic management of the Amazon LEO network. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement networking functions across AWS infrastructure and embedded devices. Your responsibilities will include gathering requirements, developing software solutions, and ensuring the operational integrity of the network.

You will engage in the full software development lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and ongoing maintenance. Your work will directly impact the reliability and performance of Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network, which aims to provide fast and reliable internet connectivity to customers in remote areas. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and optimizing network performance, ensuring that the solutions you develop meet the high standards expected by Amazon.
