Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in cloud operations and experience as a systems engineer, ideally with 5+ years in the field. You understand the intricacies of high-availability systems and have a proven track record of delivering reliable cloud services. Your expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, and DynamoDB enables you to contribute effectively to large-scale cloud initiatives.
You possess excellent collaboration skills, allowing you to work closely with global teams and influence the evolution of AWS services. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly helps bridge the gap between engineering and operational teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned on goals and expectations.
You are passionate about customer satisfaction and continually seek ways to improve service performance, reliability, and efficiency. Your analytical mindset allows you to identify areas for enhancement and implement solutions that drive operational excellence.
Desirable
Experience with Utility Computing (UC) and familiarity with the European market would be advantageous. A background in leading operations teams and a commitment to innovation will set you apart as a candidate.
What you'll do
In this role, you will oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025, playing a pivotal role in shaping AWS's cloud offerings for EU customers. You will collaborate with technology leaders to enhance day-to-day operations, focusing on improving availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the ESC.
You will lead operations and development teams dedicated to delivering high-availability AWS services, ensuring that the infrastructure meets the demands of EU customers. Your responsibilities will include influencing the evolution of AWS services and technology, working closely with global AWS teams to align on best practices and operational standards.
You will be tasked with building a best-in-class development engineering and operations team, fostering a culture of innovation and customer-centricity. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the success of the ESC initiative, ensuring that it meets the high standards expected by AWS customers.
