Overview

Amazon is seeking a System Integration Lead for the Nitro team to drive product development and system integration for next-generation cloud platforms. You'll work with AWS, embedded systems, and mechanical design in Haifa.

Who you are

You have a strong background in systems engineering with a focus on hardware and software integration — your experience includes defining architecture and optimizing mechanical designs for high-performance systems. You understand the intricacies of thermal and power management, ensuring that systems operate efficiently under load. Your expertise extends to high-speed interfaces like PCIe and Ethernet, where you have successfully implemented solutions that meet stringent performance criteria.

With a solid foundation in embedded Linux and firmware development, you are adept at creating robust boot flows and recovery mechanisms — your skills in remote debugging and health monitoring systems ensure that you can maintain system integrity and performance. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that enhance customer experience.

What you'll do

As the System Integration Lead, you will take ownership of critical hardware and software integration tasks, guiding the product development process from initial architecture discussions through to customer deployment. You will define and document integration methodologies that can scale across Amazon's product portfolio, ensuring consistency and quality in system performance. Your role will involve leading the application of emerging technologies to large-scale deployments, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

You will design and implement screening tests for production and data centers, ensuring that all systems meet rigorous quality standards before they go live. Your responsibilities will also include leading fleet-level debugging efforts and creating repair procedures that maximize capacity recovery. You will conduct game-days to validate failure recovery processes, ensuring that systems are resilient and reliable.

In this fast-paced role, you will collaborate with technology leaders across various disciplines, maintaining exceptionally high standards in all aspects of your work. You will be expected to continuously seek ways to improve performance and quality, driving innovation within the Nitro team.
