Job Description

Who you are

You are an experienced systems engineer with a strong background in automation and operations — you have a proven track record of building and leading operations teams dedicated to delivering high-availability services. Your expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, and Lambda positions you well for this role, where you will influence the evolution of AWS technology for EU customers.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with global teams to enhance day-to-day operations — your ability to oversee complex projects and ensure improvements in availability, reliability, and performance is key to your success. You are comfortable participating in on-call rotations, ready to resolve incidents and maintain service excellence.

Your passion for technology and commitment to customer satisfaction drives you to continually innovate and improve processes — you understand the importance of delivering scalable services that meet the needs of EU customers. You are eager to take on a challenging and impactful opportunity within a leading tech company.

Desirable

Experience with cloud computing and a deep understanding of utility computing principles will set you apart — familiarity with the European regulatory landscape is a plus, as it will help you navigate the complexities of launching the European Sovereign Cloud. You are proactive in seeking out new technologies and methodologies that can enhance operational efficiency.

What you'll do

You will work closely with global AWS teams to influence the evolution of AWS services and technology, contributing to the enhancement of operational processes — your insights will help shape the future of AWS offerings in Europe. A typical day will involve analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance service delivery.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that the ESC meets the highest standards of availability and performance — your role will require you to monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices in incident management. Your contributions will directly impact the customer experience, ensuring that EU customers receive the best possible service.
