Who you are
You are an experienced systems engineer with a strong background in automation and operations — you have a proven track record of building and leading teams dedicated to delivering high-availability services. Your expertise in AWS services, including EC2, S3, and Lambda, positions you well to contribute to the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud initiative. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with technology leaders to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
You possess a deep understanding of utility computing and are passionate about delivering scalable services that meet the needs of EU customers. Your experience includes overseeing complex projects and ensuring that services are not only functional but also optimized for performance and efficiency. You are comfortable participating in on-call rotations, ready to tackle incidents and ensure continuous service availability.
Desirable
Experience with cloud infrastructure and a strong grasp of AWS services will set you apart. Familiarity with incident management and operational best practices is a plus, as is a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation. What you'll do
In this role, you will spearhead the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud, collaborating with global AWS teams to ensure a successful rollout in 2025. Your responsibilities will include overseeing day-to-day operations, enhancing service availability, and driving improvements in reliability, latency, and performance. You will play a pivotal role in building and leading operations and development teams, ensuring that they are equipped to deliver high-quality AWS services exclusively for EU customers.
You will engage in regular collaboration with technology leaders, contributing to the enhancement of operational processes and ensuring that best practices are followed. Your role will also involve analyzing service performance metrics and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and scalability. You will be responsible for ensuring that the ESC meets the high standards expected by AWS customers, focusing on delivering a seamless and reliable experience.
