Experience with utility computing and cloud infrastructure is a plus — you understand the challenges and opportunities in launching new cloud services. Familiarity with the European regulatory landscape and its implications for cloud operations will enhance your ability to contribute to the European Sovereign Cloud initiative.

What you'll do

In this role, you will spearhead the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud, working closely with various AWS teams to ensure a successful rollout in 2025. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the development and operations teams dedicated to delivering high-availability AWS services. You will collaborate with technology leaders to enhance day-to-day operations, focusing on improving availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AWS services, influencing technology decisions that align with customer satisfaction and innovation. Your typical day will involve engaging with cross-functional teams, contributing to operational improvements, and ensuring that the services meet the high standards expected by EU customers.

You will also be responsible for mentoring team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring that best practices are followed in all aspects of operations. Your leadership will help build a best-in-class development engineering and operations team that is dedicated to excellence.
